David Cronenberg har precis börjat filma sin kändiskritiska spökhistoria Map to the Stars. Och nu har det kommit ett synopsis som ger en liten inblick Cronenbergs spökvärld.
Map to the Stars utspelas i Los Angeles och är en slags spökhistoria som riktar skarp kritik mot ett kändisbesatt samhälle. Manuset är skrivet av Bruce Wagner, som en del skräckfans säkert känner igen Terror på Elm Street 3: Freddys återkomst. Några namn som är med i filmen är John Cusack, Julianne Moore, Robert Pattinson, Carrie Fisher och Sarah Gadon. Det var lite oklart tidigare om de skulle spela sig själva eller kanske till och med vara besatta av varandra. Men här har vi ett synopsis som ger lite mer kött på benen och det verkar som gamle Cronenberg har något intressant på gång:
”A contemporary tale exploring the demons of our celebrity-obsessed society, the story follows the Weiss family, which is led by Stafford (Cusack), a psychotherapist and life coach who made his fortune with self-help books. His wife (Williams) is the overbearing mother-manager of their 13-year-old son (Bird), a TV star recently out of drug rehab. Their estranged daughter (Wasikowska) has just been released from a psychiatric hospital and befriended a limo driver (Pattinson) who is also an aspiring actor. One of Stafford’s celebrity clients is Havana (Moore), an actress with an unusual new assistant. Havana’s dream of reprising her dead mother’s (Gadon) starring role from the 1960s slowly crumbles while ghosts, death, and all manner of vices collide”.
